Our IPC 3U-30240 is a very compact and cost-efficient 3U server-chassis, which - in spite of its small size - supports mainboards up to the standard ATX form-factor (also: mini ITX and micro ATX / please see "notice" above). The body of the chassis has a depth of only 40cm - plus approximately 3.5cm for the retractable 19-inch handlebars on the front-side.
Six front-side 5 1/4 inch drive-bays are available and divided into two areas with 3 x 5 1/4 inch bays on each side. In the left area, the chassis is equipped with a module for the internal fixed installation of up to five 3,5 inch harddisk-drives and a pre-installed 120mm fan. The module can be replaced with backplanes and standard 5 1/4 inch disk-drives. Please note that the 120mm fan in the module is quite important for the cooling of the system. Apart from the 120mm fan, there are two standard 60mm fans included at the rear of the chassis. Optionally, it is also possible to install up to three further 40mm fans in the grid of the 5 1/4 inch front-plate of the second installation-area.
Between the two 5 1/4 inch installation-areas, the central area of the chassis offers four drive-bays for 3.5 inch harddisks or 2.5 inch harddisks /SSDs (appopriate holes for both formats are available in the bays). On the front-plate there are two USB 2.0 connectors available next to the control-buttons and LEDs of the chassis.
This chassis supports full-height PCI / PCI-E expansion-cards. Please note however, that - depending on its size - the mainboard might partially extend under the power-supply, so that certain PCI / PCI-E expansion-ports might not be usable in this case. The chassis can be equipped with standard ATX power-supplies if the power-supply has an 80mm fan for backward ventilation and a maximum depth of 14cm. It is not possible to equip this case using a standard ATX power-supply with big 120mm fan and sideward ventilation (as the fan would blow against the enclosure).
We offer this case also with a matching pre-installed power supply. Optionally, a lockable front-plate and fitting telescopic sliding-rails are available from us. If you are interested in a complete server-system based on this case, we can send you a tailor-made offer according to your specification-needs.

5 Stars with caveat For the price this case offers excellent build quality and features. However, I have a few things to caution for anyone considering this case. The description states it supports full-size PCI/PCI-E Cards. While this is technically true, if you are planning on installing a GPU with a top facing power port you will run into some problems. The height of the PCI power connector will exceed the height of the case. There is only about 5mm of clearance above a full height PCI Card... I cannot fault the manufacturer for this as the case fits the 3U spec but I would have gone for a 4U case if this was stated in the description. I did manage to build a custom cable which fits with my graphics card but everything fits a bit tighter than I would have liked. An additional detail, the case (without modification) will only fit PCI Cards with a maximum of about 21cm in length. You might get 22cm card in there if you are good with cable management as the ATX power cable will need to get past the rear of the card somehow. Also the stock fans are loud so unless you are placing this in a closet Id recommend replacing them. Again I dont fault the manufacturer for this as this has been the case for literally every pc box Ive ever purchased.
