This extremely short 4U rack-mount server case with a depth of only 30cm is ideal for use in short-depth racks - like mobile flightcases or in narrow wall-mounted network-cabinets. Its compact size makes this chassis a perfect solution for all situations where a powerful server-system needs to be installed in a very limited and highly confined space. The case can be mounted as a "front-access" or "rear-access" chassis - rotated by 180 degrees, so that the normally rearward facing connectors are located at the front of the network cabinet. The operating elements such as power switches and LEDs can optionally be moved from front to rear for this purpose.
This chassis is available in two versions: standard (STD) or GPU version (GPU). This offer is for the standard version of the chassis. The standard version is equipped with an USB 2.0 front-panel and a 5 1/4 inch front-cover which is connected to the internal carrier for the 5 1/4 inch bay. If the internal carrier for the 5 1/4 inch bay is taken out, the front will remain open and not covered. The standard version is recommended if the chassis is used with a 5 1/4 inch device like a backplane or DVD-drive or when no installation of big expansion cards or graphics-cards is necessary. The GPU version of the chassis is equipped with an USB 3.0 front-panel, an additional installation option for a 60mm fan at the back and a 5 1/4 inch front-cover which is connected to the front of the chassis. The front-cover stays connected to the front, even when the internal carrier for the 5 1/4 inch bay is taken out - for example for the installation of a huge expansion-card or a graphics-card. The case supports mini ITX, micro ATX and standard ATX motherboards. You can use standard ATX power supplies and - thanks to the removable power supply cover - also mini-redundant power supplies. With an optional SFX adapter-plate you can also install small SFX power-supplies. We generally recommend using SFX power-supplies or ATX power-supplies with cable-management and exact cable-lengths, as there is not much room for an abundance of long and sometimes unnecessary cables in this chassis.The mounting of hard-disks or drives is carried out floating above the mainboard inside or on corresponding carrier modules. Please note that system-construction is a bit more complex due to the special dimensions and functionalities of the case.
